Wiarton Fall Fair evening - Day 32 (Fri 20 Sep)

This year Wiarton celebrated 145 years of Fall Fairs.
The Friday evening activities were held in the local community centre and included an official opening, crowning of the "Fall Fair Ambassador", entertainment, exhibits, a "chilli" bake-off and tasting, farmer olympics and a "kiss the pig" raffle (with people buying tickets for others mostly).

Entertainment - here a talented young folk violinist.

Exhibits - a great variety of categories including large school exhibits.

"Ribbon Cutting" for Community Centre kitchen renovations, funded in part by a grant from the "Trillium Foundation" (a government supported scheme for community grants).
(We notice that big male bellies seem to be popular over here.)

Crowning of the 2013 Fair Ambassador.
(Outgoing Ambassador speaking. New Ambassador on right.)
The new Ambassador will have a busy day ahead presenting prizes all day.

Farmer Olympics.
Pink singlet is Justine Rydall (our Canadian "Grand-daughter").
