Mt Isa, surrounded by barren hills,
rather reminiscent of Alice Springs (but not so beautiful)
and all overshadowed by the mine complex.
It seems to know where it is in the world though and has some lovely spots in the hinterland (they say)
but we were unfortunately focussed on our ETA in Darwin by now.
