Before leaving Winton,
some "present buying" for Beth's imminent birthday,
then out onto the endless plain again,
through Cloncurry, with more of those Queensland, weather-board public buildings
and on through rugged hill country, along a difficultly winding road (Beth driving - clever John),
filled with caravans and the longest road trains that we have seen (up to four trailers - many mining transports).
