KAKADU
Having seen much of Kakadu on previous occasions, we decided to just travel back to Darwin via the Kakadu and Arnhem Highways without major deviations.

Jabiru - a town that appears to be running down .
West along the Arnhem Highway - dry grass plains, scrubby rises, wide rivers and lagoons/billabongs. Seasonal "burning off"is everywhere - seen and smelt.
The wetlands, Fogg Dam and Humpty Doo (the failed rice growing project, now mostly cattle and mangoes) finished the trip for us.
