West & North June - July 2016 : Day 06 - Sunday 03 July - Meekatharra to Karijini National Park

We set out from Meekatharra under cloudy skies, travelling initially, through mostly cattle country with some mining, until we reached Newman, reputed to be Australia's largest iron ore open cut mine. Road trains and evidence of recent rains along the road were both plentiful.

Newman
That is a mighty heap of overburden.

Travel on into the Hammersely Range and the Karijini National Park was a delight.

After setting up camp there was just time for a walk to the nearby Joffre Gorge before dark
