West & North June - July 2016 : Day 04 - Friday 01 July - Kalgoorlie +

Old Boulder - interesting and friendly but pretty run down behind some upgraded painting and street works.

The KCGM Super Pit - another world...

,,, with monster machines, each costing some millions of dollars,
and yet subject to redundancy,
all to achieve "a golf ball" of gold from seven loads of ore.

Kalgoorlie from Mt Charlotte Lookout.

After lunch, a trip to Coolgardie, where the first gold in the area was found, and  "home" of the "Coolgardie Safe" (The evaporative cool safe so important in the early Australian bush).

A short visit to the Kalgoorlie Arboretum ...
 a man and his dog,
a nymph (with her mother - off screen with a camera)
a reflective pool and trees.

Finally, a visit to "Fossicks Handmade",
to browse their diverse stock of locally made art, handcrafts and produce..

before preparations for three days and two bush camps heading north to Port Hedland.
