On to Toronto - Day 47 (Sat 05 Oct)

A latish start from Niagara-on-the-Lakes, following an extended conversation over breakfast with our Canadian host and a Dutch couple. Refuel then straight up the highway to the Ontario Botanical Gardens at Burlington. They are way too extensive to view fully in a couple of hours. We viewed the climate controlled Cactus and Mediteranian pavillions then walked in one of the several garden areas.

Some of the statues exhibited in the gardens can be purchased - not this one.

A large conference area and wedding facilities were both in use.

Facilities for use by school groups and young children impressed us.

A long drag through the seemingly endless satellite cities and suburbs of Toronto followed, getting us to the Novotel at North York at around 5 o'clock. We are on the 11th floor with extensive views over the northern suburbs (not the city centre). The number of high rise residentials and boring new developments, way out from the city centre are depressing to contemplate. (How glad we are to be going back home to little Adelaide.)

After dinner - a photo walk along Yonge Street, experimenting with night photography.
