OUTBACK NSW DAY 6 TUESDAY 21 MAY 2019

STURT NATIONAL PARK (WEST)

A wonderful day exploring the major part of the Sturt National Park travelling in a loop north and west from Tibooburra via the Jump-ups to Cameron Corner and Fort Grey.

Our camp at Dead Horse Gully.

Cattle on the way out from our camp.

The northern Tibooburra sign.

The park was generally arid formerly pastoral country.

There were signs of  recent rain but still a lot of dust.

At one point we encountered three stock road trains,
one unexpectedly from Blythe in the South Australian Nid-North..

The dog proof fence and its various gates was an interest.

The Moomba to Sydney natural gas pipeline became an interest during our travels.

We added Cameron Corner to the collection of "state corners" that we have visited.

Fort Grey was a contact with Captain  Charles Sturt,
as was the sculpture replica of his boat back in Tibooburra.

A rewarding day deserved a drink and meeting some interesting "locals" at the "Family Hotel"
(both those in the bar and those painted on the bar wall).
