Our trip to Sydney 13 (October 2010)

A farewell to some of the friends we made at the tourist park,

and back through the open spaces between Sydney and Adelaide,
the Hay Plains (that most people but us seem to dislike) -
a great, but not really relaxing trip.

Our trip to Sydney 12 (October 2010)

A last visit to the city - Chinese Gardens (another favourite for us),

where a Chinese wedding was in process,
Darling Harbour (that we found crowded and uninviting on a Saturday afternoon),
Queen Victoria Building, then back home through a torrential Sydney thunder storm
that put our part of the rail system out for several hours with a lightening strike on the Bridge.
Still time to catch this beautiful fungus by the road on our walk from the railway station.

Our trip to Sydney 11 (October 2010)

A day in the Blue Mountains.
Some blooms at Mount Tomar Botanical Gardens -
a favourite of ours, comparable to the Mount Lofty Botanical Gardens
but a lot further from the city centre.

Our Trip to Sydney 07 (October 2010)

$5 buys two pensioners a concession day pass on all of Sydney's public transport.
Train from North Ryde to Circular Quay for a visit to the Museum of Contemporary Art (one of our Sydney "musts").
Then ferry to Manly and back.

Some walking around the city business area for some building shots,
then back to base again by train.

Our trip to Sydney 05 (October 2010)

All seen in an early morning walk in the Lane Cove River National Park,
right next to the Tourist Park and in the heart of Sydney's North Shore.

Our trip to Sydney 04 (October 2010)

Off the Highway - Marulan - more than just the fuel & feed stop that most make.
An interesting location and town.
Old railway bridge still in use on a back road between Marulan and Moss Vale.
The Lane Cove River Tourist Park, excellently managed by the National Parks and Wildlife Service.
Excellent and relatively cheap ensuite cabins like the one where we stayed.
Walking access to the Lane Cove River National Park and the new North Ryde Railway Station.
Easy access to major roads and tollways for driving.
